The CBI team has landed in Mumbai to investigate Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. On August 19, the Supreme Court transferred the late actor's suicide case to CBI. The CBI has recorded statements of six people related to the case.

The CBI team is divided into three parts on the case. Each team has three members and all these report to IPS Manoj Shashidhar. The first team has been given the responsibility of submitting all the documents related to the case, such as case diary, photographs of the crime scene, autopsy report, Mumbai police forensic report, post-mortem report and copy of the recorded witnesses statement.

The second team will interrogate Rhea Chakraborty and her family members, Sushant's former manager, the people working at his house.

The third team will also investigate professional rivalry angle in the case. They will question Bollywood celebrities and doctors who signed Sushant's post-mortem report. The task of recreating the scene of crime has also been given to this team. Apart from this, the CBI team will also take the case forward with the help of the Finding Report of the money laundering investigation being conducted by the Enforcement Directorate.

The Special investigation Team for SSR's case will be led by senior IPS officer Manoj Shashidhar along with fellow team members. These reportedly comprise of DIG officer Gagandeep Gambhir, SP Nupur Prasad and ASP (Additional SP) Anil Kumar Yadav. DCP Abhishek Trimukhe has been appointed as the nodal officer between the CBI and Mumbai Police. Trimukhe was involved in the investigation of Sushant case. The CBI team will first try to establish if it's a case if murder or suicide. To rule out murder, crime spot examination, autopsy examination and forensic examination at the crime scene will be done first.

Sushant's father KK Singh filed a complaint against Rhea Chakraborty in Patna police station, accusing her of abetment of suicide. The Mumbai Police, on the other hand, had filed an Accidental Death Report on June 14 and were already investigating the case. After the FIR against her, Rhea moved the Supreme Court seeking transfer of the case’s jurisdiction to Mumbai. Yesterday, the court dismissed Rhea's plea and transferred the case to CBI.
