Protesting farmer unions on Wednesday asked the government to not repeat "meaningless" amendments to the new farm laws that they have already rejected but come up a concrete proposal in writing for another round of talks. Addressing a press conference, a farmer leader said they were ready for talks, but the government should send a concrete proposal for that to happen. The farmers also asserted that they do not want amendments to be made to the farm laws, but want their complete repeal as well as a legal guarantee on MSP. Swaraj Abhiyan leader Yogendra Yadav said that if the government takes one step, farmers will take two, and asked it to stop writing "love letters". In a letter to Union Agriculture Joint Secretary Vivek Aggarwal, Sankyukt Kisan Morcha, an umbrella body of 40 unions protesting at several Delhi border points for the last 27 days, alleged that the government is treating the farmers as its "political opponents".
