Delhi: Man killed after policeman shoots him over trivial argument

According to sources, the two had an argument regarding personal matters after which Head Constable Surinder shot Deepak.

A man was allegedly shot dead by a policeman in Delhi's Rohini area early Thursday morning. The deceased has been identified as Deepak Ahlawat and the accused has been identified as Surinder who is a Head Constable with the Delhi Police.

According to sources, the two had an argument regarding personal matters after which Surinder shot Deepak. The incident happened in Budh Vihar colony of Rohini. Surinder has been arrested and dismissed from his duty as well.

Soon after the incident, senior officers of Delhi Police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the matter.

"We are dismissing Surinder from his job. Cops are supposed to ensure the safety and security of the common people not to put their lives in danger," said a senior police official.
